Behind the Scenes of a Mudding Weekend With Vessel Powersport

When you see Vessel Powersports show up at a mud park, you see the action: the bounty hole carnage, crowds around our booth, the Honda ATVs climbing out of deep mud, and the riders taking home trophies.
But what most people don’t see is everything that goes into making a mudding weekend happen.

From loading the trailer to handing out coozies at the booth, here’s an inside look at what a real mud-park weekend is like with Vessel Powersports.

The Prep: Getting the Machines and Gear Ready

A mudding weekend starts days before the wheels ever hit the road.

1. Dialing in the ATVs and UTVs

Before any event, our team checks over every machine—because mud parks are brutal. We inspect:

  • Driveshafts and axles

  • Wheel bearings

  • Tires and beadlocks

  • Electrical and lighting setups

  • Snorkel systems

  • Winches and tow points

Most weekends, we’re running Honda Ranchers, Foremans, Rubicons, and Pioneer 500s built with the same aftermarket parts we sell—like driveshaft upgrades, wheel spacers, reverse/brake lights, and speaker mounts.

If we’re hosting a bounty hole, we tune the machines specifically for deep pits and high abuse. Reliability is everything.

2. Loading Up the Booth

The booth is a moving parts store. We pack:

  • Merchandise and apparel

  • Popular Honda accessories

  • LED light kits

  • Speaker mounts

  • Snorkel kits

  • Spare parts for riders who need fixes on-site

  • Hundreds of necklace coozies for giveaways

Every event means connecting with the community—and keeping riders on the trail.

The Drive: 8–12 Hours of Hauling to the Park

Most mud parks aren’t exactly around the corner.
Vessel weekends often mean 8–12+ hour drives, usually starting before sunrise.

Two trucks, a fully loaded trailer, and a convoy of Honda machines hit the highway. Every trip is a mix of excitement, anticipation, and coffee.

Setting Up at the Park: The Calm Before the Chaos

When we get to the park, the first priority is getting the booth up before the rush.

The Setup Includes:

  • Tent and banners

  • Lighting and power

  • Displaying our best-selling Honda parts

  • Stocking tables with merch

  • Prepping cameras for content

  • Doing final checks on machines for racing

Mud parks fill up fast, and within an hour, the booth usually turns into a nonstop flow of riders wanting to talk builds, pick up parts, or show off their machines.

The Action: What a Vessel Mudding Day Really Looks Like

Once the gates open… it’s go time.

1. Connecting With Riders

We spend most of the day talking to riders who:

  • Need parts

  • Want to upgrade

  • Have questions about their Honda build

  • Are excited to show us their setups

  • Want to talk mudding, bounty holes, and events

These conversations are the best part of the job.
People drive hours just to ride—and seeing their passion fuels us.

2. Giving Out Gear and Merch

If you’ve seen us at an event, you know:
We love giving out coozies, stickers, and freebies.
The goal is always to leave people with something they’ll actually use.

3. Filming Content All Weekend

Every event gives us wild footage—

  • Bounty hole senders

  • ATVs disappearing in pits

  • Sideways wheelies

  • Mud flying 20 feet high

  • Riders pulling each other out

  • Mud trucks clearing trenches

This is the raw content that makes mudding what it is.

4. Racing, Competing & Supporting the Bounty Hole

When Vessel sponsors or hosts a bounty hole competition, things get loud and intense.

We’re right there in the pit:

  • Helping riders prep

  • Recovering stuck machines

  • Handing out prizes

  • Filming the carnage

  • Capturing the winners

Bounty races are a huge part of the culture—they bring out the best riders, the best machines, and the biggest crowds.

Evenings at the Park: The Party Doesn’t Stop

After the sun goes down, the real mud-park atmosphere kicks in:

  • Night rides

  • Music and trail parties

  • Light bars lighting up the woods

  • Riders rolling up to the booth to talk about their day

Mud parks create a community like nothing else—and we stay out there with the crowd until late.

The Next Morning: Wrenching, Helping, and Riding Out

The second day of an event always brings new challenges.

We help riders with:

  • Broken axles

  • Bent tie rods

  • Electrical issues

  • Lighting problems

  • Anything that keeps them from riding

We keep our tools and parts ready for anyone who needs help.
The goal is simple: make sure everyone gets the most out of their weekend.

Of course, we get some riding in too—because we’re in this sport for the same reason everyone else is. We love it.

Why We Do It: The Vessel Powersports Mission

A mudding weekend is a ton of work, but every trip is worth it for three reasons:

1. The Community

Honda riders and mud-park locals are some of the best people you’ll meet.

2. The Adventure

No two events are ever the same—from massive mud trucks to riders breaking records in the bounty hole.

3. The Passion for Powersports

We live and breathe this industry.
Running a booth, helping riders, shooting content, and pushing machines to the limit is what Vessel was built for.
